Head of R&D, Electronic Products

The Company is seeking a Head of R&D to spearhead the engineering and innovative development of electronic products. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading global engineering teams, driving technical excellence, and ensuring the successful delivery of products from concept to mass production. This role involves owning the end-to-end NPI process, fostering a high-performing engineering team, and collaborating with global manufacturing and supply chain teams to optimize resources and improve project delivery. The Head of R&D will also be tasked with defining and executing the engineering roadmap around emerging trends such as IoT, AI, and sustainability, while ensuring compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements. Candidates for the Head of R&D position should have a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field, with a Master’s or PhD highly desirable, and at least 15 years of engineering leadership experience in EMS, ODM, or similar environments. The role requires a proven track record in leading global engineering teams, extensive NPI experience, and expertise in DFM, DFQ, and DFC methodologies. A broad technical background across hardware, firmware, software, mechanical design, and IoT is essential, as is strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and experience with Agile or Stage-Gate project management. Fluency in English is required, with proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese being highly advantageous. The ideal candidate will also have a strong focus on continuous improvement, talent acquisition, and retention, and be willing to travel globally.
