Head of Software Engineering

The Company is seeking a Head of Software Engineering with a focus on senior engineering leadership in banking and fintech. The successful candidate will be responsible for modernizing enterprise architecture, advancing digital transformation, and strengthening the resilience of banking platforms. This role is ideal for an engineering leader who is adept at scaling offshore teams and influencing the delivery of financial products. Key responsibilities include overseeing end-to-end software delivery, leading the engineering digital transformation roadmap, and establishing delivery governance, code quality standards, and performance KPIs. The role also involves championing cloud-native architecture, CI/CD automation, and containerization, as well as providing technical direction for scalable backend systems. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in senior leadership within banking, digital banking, or fintech. A proven track record in large-scale platform modernization or digital transformation, and experience in scaling offshore teams, is essential. The role requires strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven architecture, as well as hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD. Knowledge of incident management, high availability, and disaster recovery in regulated environments is also a key requirement. The ideal candidate will possess strong executive communication, vendor negotiation, and cross-cultural leadership skills, and be fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
