Finance & Commercial Trustee (Board-level role)

The Company is in search of two External Trustees, one with a finance background and the other with commercial experience, to join its independent, student-led charity. The successful candidates will play a pivotal role in the governance and strategic direction of the organization, ensuring its financial sustainability and supporting the development of income-generating activities. The Finance Trustee will provide essential financial scrutiny, help the Board understand the organization's financial position, and contribute to decision-making about resources and future sustainability. The Commercial Trustee will bring senior experience in commercial development, venue or hospitality operations, and business development, and will be instrumental in enhancing the charity's commercial activities to support its charitable purpose. Both roles require individuals who can combine professional expertise with a collaborative and supportive approach, and who are committed to the improvement of students' lives. The ideal candidates will be able to exercise sound judgment, contribute confidently to collective decisions, and support the Chief Executive and elected officers. While previous experience in a similar role is not essential, a strong interest in education, young people, and the values of the organization is important. The anticipated time commitment is just under one day per month, with the expectation of attending Trustee Board meetings and engaging with the organization.
