Hiring Company
About the Role
Greater London, United Kingdom Area (On-site)
The Company is seeking a new Trustee to join its Board. The ideal candidate will have a background that includes leadership at the chief executive or executive director level, or a comparably senior role in public life or policy, and experience in governance. The role is particularly suited to individuals with a focus on health, social care, or the lives of older people, as well as those with experience in supporting refugees and asylum seekers. The successful candidate will be part of a committed and engaged Board, working alongside the Director and a small, expert staff team. The Foundation values trustees who are well-prepared, contribute thoughtfully, and enjoy collaborative work. As a Trustee, the main duties will include providing strategic leadership, overseeing key decisions, ensuring financial stability, and supporting effective management. The role requires a commitment to the Foundation's mission, values, and strategic goals, as well as the ability to work as part of a team and build good relationships. The ideal candidate will bring specific knowledge and experience in areas such as senior experience in relevant fields, expertise in research, grant-making, or philanthropy, and insight into the diversity of UK society. A strong leadership style, a commitment to the principles of public life, and a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to the role are essential. The appointment is for a term of three years, with the possibility of renewal, and is offered on a voluntary basis.
