Executive Director, Research Services

The Company is seeking an Executive Director, Research Services to lead and transform the services that support research across its organization. The role oversees an integrated portfolio spanning pre- and post-award services, clinical trials, research ethics and governance, and service improvement. The Executive Director will simplify processes, reduce administrative burden, strengthen accountability and compliance, and improve the researcher experience. Working with senior academic and professional leaders and external stakeholders, the successful candidate will provide strategic advice and drive operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Candidates should bring significant senior executive leadership experience, including leading large multidisciplinary teams and developing senior leaders, along with deep knowledge of the research lifecycle and research services. They will have a strong record of complex service transformation, translating strategy into measurable operational improvements, and building trusted stakeholder relationships. The role also requires sound risk management, regulatory and governance expertise, financial and organizational acumen, and experience managing substantial budgets and resources. Excellent communication, negotiation, executive advisory, and judgment skills are essential, as is resilience in navigating complex and high-pressure situations.
