Vice President for Finance & Operations Greater Syracuse, NY Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Finance and Operations to serve as its senior financial officer and lead financial strategy, planning, and operations. The role oversees budgeting, accounting, reporting, cash and debt management, procurement, investments, information technology, and risk management. The Vice President advises executive leadership and the governing board, aligns resources with institutional priorities, and supports long-term financial sustainability. Responsibilities also include overseeing audits, financial controls, contracts, and business operations, while building a responsive team and fostering transparent, accountable financial practices. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, and have significant progressive leadership experience managing complex budgets, financial operations, and organizational planning. Required expertise includes financial accounting, analysis and reporting, long-range planning, cash and debt management, and the ability to align resources with strategic priorities. Strong communication, team leadership, sound judgment, and a record of integrity are essential. An advanced degree or CPA designation is preferred, as is senior financial leadership experience in higher education or a complex nonprofit setting, along with experience in investments, debt, facilities, procurement, or risk management.
