Head of Agentic Software Development Greater Toronto, Canada Area

The Company is seeking a Head of Agentic Software Development to lead its enterprise AI engineering capability. The role sets the multi-year strategy and operating model, establishes engineering standards and governance, and owns shared AI engineering platforms and services. Responsibilities include overseeing test data management, quality engineering and design tooling; directing investment priorities and vendor strategy; and driving measurable improvements in productivity, delivery speed, software quality, security and resilience. The leader will resolve cross-enterprise priorities, remove barriers to modernization, and guide a multidisciplinary organization while reporting on delivery, risk, adoption and outcomes. Candidates should have a university degree in computer science, engineering, business or a related field; an advanced degree is an asset. At least 15 years of progressive technology leadership experience is required, including enterprise engineering, platform ownership, AI transformation and large-scale delivery in a complex regulated environment. Applicants should bring deep knowledge of software development lifecycles, DevSecOps, cloud, AI-enabled development, quality engineering, cybersecurity and technology risk, along with experience leading large teams and investment portfolios. Strong financial and commercial judgment, executive communication skills, and familiarity with regulatory and control expectations in a large financial institution are also required.
