General Counsel

The Company is seeking a General Counsel to join its Executive Committee and provide strategic, independent, and commercially focused legal leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and overseeing the Legal and Governance function, ensuring it supports the Bank's investment activities, and providing senior legal oversight of complex investments and transactions. This role requires a qualified legal professional with significant post-qualification experience, particularly in investment, banking, asset management, or similar environments. The General Counsel will also be a trusted advisor on regulatory, finance-oriented, governance, and reputational matters, and will be expected to contribute to the Bank's high-performance culture and strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities for the General Counsel include providing legal leadership across the full investment lifecycle, acting as a commercially savvy adviser to the Investment function, and overseeing legal support for commercial and third-party capital activities. The role also involves executive and strategic leadership, corporate governance, and functional management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing legal, investment, commercial, regulatory, financial, and reputational risks, and experience in leading a high-performing legal and/or governance function. Desirable qualifications include experience in a development bank, investment institution, or similar organization, and knowledge of public-law considerations. The General Counsel must demonstrate leadership capabilities, including the ability to exercise sound judgment, and operate with credibility at the Board and Executive level.
