Hiring Company
About the Role
Remote (anywhere in United States)
The Company is seeking two Trustees to contribute to its governance and strategic direction, with expertise in either climate adaptation and resilience or marketing, public relations, and communications. Trustees will help guide long-term strategy, support effective governance and legal compliance, safeguard the organization’s reputation and financial sustainability, and provide advice and constructive challenge to the executive team. They will also contribute professional insight to Board discussions and initiatives and help build relationships with supporters, funders, and partners. The climate-focused Trustee will advise on climate risks, resilience, and sustainable development, while the communications-focused Trustee will help strengthen the organization’s visibility, advocacy, and engagement with key audiences. Candidates should bring relevant expertise in climate adaptation, resilience, environmental sustainability, communications, public relations, marketing, or brand strategy. Climate candidates should be able to translate complex issues into practical strategic advice and understand the needs of climate-vulnerable communities; experience in international development, humanitarian, community, or public service settings is valuable. Communications candidates should have senior-level experience and understand how communications can support organizational growth, fundraising, and influence, including engagement with external audiences. All candidates should demonstrate sound judgment, collaborative governance skills, and a commitment to the organization’s mission; lived experience of the countries it serves is also welcomed.
