Executive Director of Finance & Planning

The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Finance & Planning to lead financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, procurement, payroll, forecasting, and reporting. The role develops financial policies, procedures, and internal controls; ensures compliance with applicable regulations and accounting standards; and advises senior leadership on financial and operational planning. Responsibilities include overseeing transactions and contracts, managing budgets and revenue activity, planning staffing and resources, and supervising administrative staff. The Executive Director also contributes to leadership and organizational planning, handles sensitive information with discretion, and may represent senior leadership when needed. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and more than five years of progressively responsible experience in a complex financial environment, or a master’s degree and more than three years of such experience. Required qualifications include supervisory experience, advanced financial analysis and planning skills, strong Excel and database proficiency, and the ability to turn data into actionable decisions and communicate financial information clearly. Applicants should demonstrate strong organization, attention to detail, problem-solving, collaboration, independent initiative, and discretion. Familiarity with HR and finance systems and the policies of a large higher-education institution is preferred.
