The Company is seeking a General Counsel to lead its legal function as it scales internationally and brings new technology to market. The role advises the board and executive team on corporate governance, fundraising, and expansion, while overseeing commercial contracts, product launch readiness, intellectual property, disputes, employment matters, and legal risk. The General Counsel will lead global privacy, AI regulation, compliance, and governance efforts, and build scalable legal operations and a high-performing in-house team. They will also partner with product and engineering teams to embed legal requirements into product development and shape the legal function’s use of technology. Candidates must be qualified to practise law in England and Wales, with at least seven years’ post-qualification experience and a background in a high-growth technology business; AI or deep technology experience is preferred. Relevant expertise may include commercial contracts, intellectual property, data protection, product launches, and international regulatory frameworks, with fundraising, M&A, and multi-jurisdictional experience also advantageous. The role calls for strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills, along with the ability to turn complex legal issues into clear, practical advice. Candidates should be adaptable, ethically minded, comfortable working with technical teams, and able to balance legal risk with business growth.
