General Counsel

The Company is seeking a commercially minded, hands-on General Counsel to lead its legal function and advise executive leadership. As the sole in-house attorney, this person will draft and negotiate commercial contracts, advise on multistate employment matters, and lead legal work for new practice launches, including leases and real estate matters. Responsibilities also include managing disputes, selecting and overseeing outside counsel, and creating templates and processes that make recurring legal work more consistent and efficient. The role will also develop responsible AI-enabled workflows for legal research, drafting, and contract review, with appropriate safeguards and verification. Candidates must hold an active bar membership in good standing in a U.S. state or Washington, D.C., and bring broad in-house legal experience. Required experience includes commercial contracts, employment matters, familiarity with commercial leases, and supporting multistate businesses with employees and physical locations. Applicants should demonstrate practical judgment, clear communication, the ability to manage competing priorities independently, and proficiency using AI tools to improve legal work responsibly. Ten or more years of relevant experience, including several years supporting a high-growth, multi-location company, is preferred.
