Head of Building Safety & Compliance

The Company is seeking a Head of Building Safety and Compliance to lead landlord compliance and building safety across a substantial residential portfolio. The role oversees programmes covering gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, water hygiene, lifts, emergency lighting, alarm systems, and damp and mould. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory standards, while providing strategic leadership to compliance, asset management, and safety teams. Responsibilities also include managing budgets, contractors, and performance frameworks, driving continuous improvement and risk management, and developing long-term compliance and asset strategies with senior stakeholders. Candidates should have significant experience delivering landlord compliance, building safety, or asset management services within social housing, alongside strong knowledge of housing legislation and statutory requirements. Experience managing technical compliance areas, including gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, and water safety, is required. The role also calls for demonstrated leadership across teams, budgets, and contractors, as well as a relevant professional qualification and/or membership in a recognized professional body.
