Vice President of Supply Chain Planning Greater Syracuse, NY Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Supply Chain Planning to lead demand planning and purchase order execution across a broad product catalog. The role owns the process from forecasting and buy planning through vendor confirmation, cargo readiness, transportation handoff, and timely receipt. Responsibilities include balancing inventory targets with weekly receiving capacity, managing seasonal purchasing needs, monitoring supplier performance, and resolving exceptions before they affect delivery. The leader will also drive automation of forecasting, purchase order placement, and lifecycle monitoring, while partnering with merchandising, transportation, and distribution operations. Candidates should bring strong analytical skills and the ability to work directly with data, build models, and explain their recommendations. Fluency in SQL, business intelligence tools, and advanced Excel is required, along with the ability to learn enterprise resource planning and planning systems quickly. The role also calls for hands-on vendor management, experience building AI or automation solutions—or a demonstrated ability to learn and implement new tools—and comfort working within physical and operational constraints. Prior AI expertise is not required.
