Head of Electrical Engineering

The Company is seeking a Head of Electrical Engineering to own and develop its grid connection strategy across Germany. The role leads grid connection activities from early development through connection, provides technical input on high-voltage systems and grid studies, and assesses opportunities for technical and commercial viability. The successful candidate will advise on project and investment decisions, establish processes and best practices, and serve as an internal grid expert for engineering, development, and project teams. They will also build relationships with grid stakeholders and help grow the grid connection function. Candidates should have a degree or strong professional background in electrical engineering or a related discipline, with proven experience managing grid connections for energy infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems, grid infrastructure, and the German grid connection landscape is required, along with the ability to engage with transmission and distribution system operators at a technical level. Experience working across engineering and project development teams is essential; background in energy storage, renewables, or grid infrastructure is an advantage. C1-level or higher German and strong English communication skills are required, as is the ability to take ownership and make decisions independently.
