Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)
Hiring Company
About the Role
Remote (anywhere in United Kingdom)
The Company is seeking its first Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to establish and lead security across its organization. The role combines hands-on security leadership—including strategy, incident response, cloud and identity security, vendor risk, phishing defense, policy, and audit readiness—with building AI-driven systems for continuous security testing, monitoring, and review. The CISO will map the organization’s attack surface, strengthen platform and customer-account protections, and set standards for secure use of AI tools and agents. They will lead a small security team, brief executives on risks, and coordinate incident response with relevant external parties. Candidates should have at least 10 years of security experience, including three or more years leading a security function at an organization of 100 or more people. Required experience includes leading live incident response, building security programs, and hands-on work with cloud security, identity and access management, SIEM, endpoint protection, and email security. Applicants should use AI agents in security workflows, understand AI-specific risks, and be able to write scripts and automation. Experience in crypto, fintech, or another high-fraud industry is required, along with strong communication, documentation, and team leadership skills. Experience preparing for SOC 2 or ISO 27001, securing AI agents, and relevant security certifications are advantageous.
