Chief Compliance & Legal Officer

The Company is seeking a Chief Compliance and Legal Officer to lead its compliance and legal functions and help ensure the organization meets regulatory requirements while supporting business operations. Responsibilities include directing the compliance program, providing practical legal and regulatory guidance, and overseeing outside counsel strategy and legal spending. The role also manages regulatory, licensing, and examination activities, strengthens policies, monitoring, training, and controls, and partners with executive leadership. Candidates must hold a Juris Doctor degree and an active bar license, with significant legal and compliance leadership experience in consumer finance or another heavily regulated financial services environment. They should have a strong working knowledge of consumer financial laws and regulations, along with a record of leading legal and compliance functions and building or improving compliance processes, controls, or teams. The role requires sound business judgment, experience managing outside counsel and legal budgets, and strong communication skills to explain complex issues clearly to non-lawyers. Leadership, prioritization, and change management capabilities are also essential.
