Overview
About the Role & TeamIDC is seeking a Group Vice President (GVP), Devices and Consumers to lead IDC's global research across the devices and consumer technology landscape and turn its insight into market impact. This executive owns the research agenda, the quality and visibility of the output, and the performance of the global analyst team, reporting into the Global Leader, Research & Data Intelligence. This is a research leadership role that faces the market. The GVP is not a back-office researcher or a people manager only. He/she is expected to be out with clients, technology vendors, startups, investors, and buyers/leaders, as well as the press, to build the team's external reputation, and to make research a direct driver of IDC's advisory and commercial growth. The Devices and Consumers team has deep, established expertise in PCs, mobile phones, XR/VR, and wearables. The device landscape is now being reshaped by AI-native hardware: wearables built around AI assistants, AI edge endpoints, and smart home and ambient devices where AI is the core experience rather than a feature. The GVP will bring new, cutting-edge technology experience and market exposure that complements the team's current strengths and extends IDC's coverage into these emerging categories. The GVP works in close partnership with IDC's Sales, Custom Solutions, Customer Success, and Marketing teams, and with IDC's regional and global research organization, to make sure devices and consumer perspectives are heard across the market, and global assets are made relevant locally. What You’ll Do
