About the Role
Greater London, United Kingdom Area (On-site)
The Company is seeking a Head of Infrastructure to take on a pivotal role in the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership of the firm's compute stack, including the hardware/software interface, training cluster orchestration, inference deployment pipeline, and the development of associated tooling. This role involves direct management of a team of around 25 infrastructure engineers and is focused on transitioning the infrastructure from an internal pilot to external customer workloads, as well as enhancing the inference pipeline to meet the firm's SLAs. The Head of Infrastructure will also be tasked with creating a developer experience that is accessible to teams with a background in GPU technology. Applicants for the Head of Infrastructure position at the company should have a proven track record of leading an infrastructure organization through a 0-to-1 to 1-to-n transition. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in both training and inference stacks, as well as the ability to engage with customers effectively. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role at a peer silicon startup, a senior leadership position in a frontier lab with a focus on large-scale training clusters, or a principal role in a hyperscaler environment, ready to step into organizational leadership. The company values a hands-on approach to managing throughput, latency, and unit costs across both stacks, and the role is critical in meeting the production milestones that have been committed to customers.
