Head of Corporate Finance

The Company is seeking a Head of Corporate Finance for Japan, an executive-level position that involves leading the firm's strategic investment banking business in the Japanese market. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, developing long-term executive relationships, and collaborating with global sector bankers and product specialists to deliver top-tier advisory solutions. Key responsibilities include leading and growing the Japan Corporate Finance Advisory franchise, originating and executing complex M&A, corporate finance, and capital-raising transactions, and expanding the firm's market presence across various sectors. The role also requires mentoring and developing junior bankers and fostering a high-performance advisory culture. Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years' experience in investment banking, corporate finance, M&A advisory, or corporate coverage within an international financial institution. A proven track record in originating and leading complex domestic and cross-border corporate finance transactions, as well as established relationships with senior executives in major Japanese corporate groups, is essential. The ideal candidate will have deep sector expertise in energy, infrastructure, transportation, technology, media, and telecommunications, and a strong reputation in the Japanese corporate finance and investment banking community. An entrepreneurial mindset, exceptional business origination, and client relationship management capabilities, along with a strategic commercial mindset and strong leadership skills, are also required.
