Head of Engineering

The Company is seeking a Head of Engineering for a greenfield industrial project in Portugal. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the implementation of a new industrial unit, overseeing the project from conception to production start-up. This role involves leading the engineering activities, ensuring technical coordination, and working closely with local and international teams. Key responsibilities include supplier selection, contract negotiations, and the development of engineering and maintenance strategies. The Head of Engineering will also be involved in the implementation of processes for maintenance and reliability, and will support initiatives for continuous improvement and operational efficiency. Applicants must have a higher education degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years' experience in leadership roles within industrial engineering. Experience in greenfield projects, industrial expansion, and the food industry is essential. The role requires a professional with a strong background in CAPEX project management, supplier and contractor management, and a proven ability to lead and develop teams. Fluency in English, knowledge of IFS standards, and experience in international or multi-site management are also necessary. The Head of Engineering will be expected to combine strategic vision with a hands-on operational approach and to be a driving force for the company's standards and methodologies.
