Head of Governance & Compliance

The Company is seeking a Head of Governance & Compliance to provide operational leadership for an established governance function. The role involves managing the day-to-day compliance programme, overseeing external suppliers, reviewing audit findings and action plans, and responding to stakeholder queries. The successful candidate will maintain and improve policies, procedures, and governance frameworks, support operational initiatives, and monitor programme performance through management information. Responsibilities also include line-managing one direct report and contributing to wider team activities. Candidates should have experience managing governance, compliance, audit, or operational assurance programmes, ideally in a regulated environment. Strong stakeholder management and supplier oversight skills are required, along with sound judgment, excellent organization, and attention to detail. The role calls for a pragmatic, hands-on manager who can quickly understand complex operations, manage competing priorities, and contribute directly to delivery. Experience in automotive, vehicle finance, fleet, transport, or financial services would be advantageous.
