Head of Corporate Accounting

The Company is seeking a Head of Corporate Accounting to lead and modernize its financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accurate reconciliations, provisions, accruals, and journal entries. This role involves delivering high-quality financial reporting for local and group purposes, optimizing operational processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. The Head of Corporate Accounting will also be involved in preparing statutory accounts, coordinating audits, and managing a team of professionals in various accounting functions. Applicants for the Head of Corporate Accounting position at the company should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance or business administration, with at least 7 years of relevant experience in the financial services sector. A background in the insurance sector is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of accounting under both Belgian GAAP and IFRS, with specialized expertise in insurance accounting, hedge accounting, and impairment analysis. Experience with ERP systems is advantageous. The role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills, who is fluent in English and French/Dutch, and is adept at modernizing processes through technology and automation.
