Vice President, Operational Risk Lead, Private Banking

The Company is in search of a Vice President, Operational Risk Lead for its Private Banking division. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing independent oversight and challenge of operational risks within the private banking activities. This includes the development and maintenance of the operational risk management framework, policies, and governance standards. The role also involves overseeing various risk assessment activities, reviewing new products and business initiatives from a risk perspective, and ensuring the implementation of appropriate remediation actions for operational risk events. The VP will lead regulatory engagements, audits, and reviews related to operational risk and will be a key partner for business, compliance, technology, legal, and internal audit stakeholders. Applicants must be degree holders in finance, business, risk management, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 10 years' of operational risk experience in private banking, wealth management, or financial services. A strong understanding of operational risk frameworks, governance, and regulatory requirements is essential, as is experience in areas such as conduct risk, non-financial risk, operational resilience, and third-party risk. The role requires proven stakeholder management capability, strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, and relevant professional qualifications. Fluency in English is a must, with proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin being beneficial. The VP will also be expected to drive risk culture initiatives and promote a strong first-line ownership of risks and controls within the organization.
