Head of Engineering, Maintenance & Utilities

The Company is seeking a Head of Engineering, Maintenance, and Utilities to lead the engineering function at its manufacturing and R&D site. The successful candidate will be responsible for plant maintenance, utilities operations and maintenance, and engineering projects, with a focus on ensuring high equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, cost control, and safe operations. This role is pivotal in supporting production and R&D objectives and requires a leader who can drive the effective implementation of maintenance systems, oversee facility upkeep, and maintain engineering documentation. The Head of Engineering will also be accountable for the timely execution of capital projects, particularly in the areas of capacity expansion, technology transfer, and compliance upgrades. Candidates for this role should have a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 15 years' experience in maintenance and engineering projects, preferably in the chemical, pharma, or process manufacturing industry. Key responsibilities include utilities management, project and CapEx management, and ensuring compliance with statutory and safety standards. The role demands a leader with a proven track record in managing cross-functional engineering teams, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage effectively with senior management and unions. The Head of Engineering will be measured on key success indicators such as plant uptime, project execution, maintenance and utility costs, audit outcomes, and safety incidents.
