About the Role
Greater London, United Kingdom Area (Hybrid)
The Company is in search of a Head of Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to take on a pivotal role in its governance build-out. This senior management position is not for the faint-hearted; it demands a professional who is adept at building compliance frameworks from the ground up, providing strategic advice to the Board, and serving as the firm's regulatory conscience. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall compliance framework, ensuring adherence to FCA rules, and will act as the main point of contact with the FCA. Key responsibilities include overseeing investment compliance, designing and delivering the Compliance Monitoring Programme, and maintaining the firm's SMCR framework. The role also encompasses financial crime and MLRO duties, such as AML/CTF compliance, CDD/EDD, and providing regular reporting to the Board. Applicants for this role at the company should have a background in FCA-regulated asset management or a closely related field, with a strong knowledge of FCA rules and SMCR. The position requires experience as the primary regulator contact, as well as a proven track record of integrity, judgment, and the ability to provide independent challenge. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on compliance leader, comfortable in a boutique asset management environment, and capable of engaging with senior stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a significant impact in a firm that is in a build and structuring phase, and is not yet operating as a fully scaled asset manager.
