Chief Procurement Officer

Greater Bellingham, WA Area (Headquarter location)
The Company is seeking a Chief Procurement Officer to provide strategic vision and operational leadership for its Procurement and Contracts Office, Travel Services, Asset Inventory, and P-Card Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining the organizational structure and staffing to meet the unit's strategic goals, overseeing a significant annual institutional spending, and ensuring the development and execution of all non-employment contracts. This role requires a leader who can cultivate a workplace environment that is equitable and inclusive, motivate staff, and work with senior leadership to implement strategic supply chain initiatives. The Chief Procurement Officer will also be involved in contract administration, property management, and ensuring compliance with policies, laws, and regulations. Applicants for the Chief Procurement Officer position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree or 5 years of senior-level experience in business administration, with a preference for a Master's degree. A minimum of 10 years' experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field is required, along with demonstrated expert decision-making, analytical, communicative, and negotiation skills. The role demands a commitment to cultivating inclusive work environments and the ability to manage complex procurement and contracting matters. The ideal candidate will have a background in both the private and public sectors, and certifications such as CPPO, CPPM, or CPSM are a plus. The Chief Procurement Officer will be expected to embrace access, diversity, engagement, and inclusivity in all decision-making processes.
