Vice President, Legal

The Company is seeking a Vice President, Legal to provide comprehensive legal counsel across its operations and affiliated entities. The role covers corporate and nonprofit matters, governance, regulatory compliance, lobbying and advocacy, employment, data privacy, intellectual property, and transactions. Responsibilities include advising senior leaders and the board on governance and risk, drafting and negotiating contracts, overseeing privacy compliance and intellectual property, and managing legal operations, outside counsel, and the legal budget. The Vice President will also serve as a strategic member of the executive leadership team and provide clear, practical guidance across a range of legal issues. Candidates must hold a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar. They should bring substantial corporate legal experience, including demonstrated expertise in nonprofit law and tax-exempt organizations; experience in both in-house nonprofit or foundation settings and a large law firm is preferred. The role calls for strong board governance and risk-management experience, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage competing priorities and communicate legal advice to varied audiences. Candidates should also have current knowledge of data privacy practices, particularly those affecting young people, along with collaborative relationship-building skills and an entrepreneurial, resourceful approach.
