Head of Family Law

The Company is seeking a Head of Family Law to lead and develop its family law department. Responsibilities include managing the team’s workload, performance, and development while handling a personal caseload of complex and sensitive matters. The role involves advising clients on divorce, financial remedies, children’s matters, and cohabitation disputes, as well as conducting negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings. The successful candidate will build client and professional relationships, pursue business development, monitor departmental performance and profitability, and ensure compliance with applicable legal and professional standards. Candidates must be qualified solicitors with substantial family law experience and a strong technical understanding across a broad range of matters, including financial remedy and children proceedings. Previous senior leadership experience—or readiness to step into a department leadership role—is required, along with the ability to supervise, mentor, and develop colleagues. Strong commercial awareness, communication, negotiation, advocacy, and business development skills are essential.
