The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to serve as the Deputy Laboratory Director for Operations. The COO will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of various functions, including facilities and engineering services, campus strategy and readiness, human resources, finance, information systems, and strategic partnerships. This role involves developing and implementing long-range strategic plans, driving performance improvement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory actions. The successful candidate will directly oversee the associated activities, provide leadership for infrastructure strategy, and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders. Additionally, the COO will be accountable for the final stage hearing and reconciling of all non-scientific employee grievances and must work closely with scientific leadership to support the needs of the research community. Applicants for the COO position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree or higher preferred, and experience commensurate with the role. The ideal candidate will have a background in large facility planning and operation, particularly in a government contractor environment, and possess excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and management skills. A clearable DOE Q security clearance is a requirement. The COO will be expected to interact with the Department of Energy and other stakeholders to ensure transparency and smooth operations. The role demands a strategic thinker who can integrate activities, monitor performance, and report to stakeholders, all while upholding the company's commitment to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
