Assistant General Counsel

The Company is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to provide legal advice and services across a range of institutional matters. The role manages public information requests, drafts filings related to records rulings, conducts legal research, and advises on legal, procedural, and administrative issues. Responsibilities also include reviewing policies and investigations, supporting litigation and regulatory inquiries, and advising on employment, student affairs, risk management, ethics, and compliance matters. The successful candidate will engage with clients, provide training and educational materials, and represent the institution in student disciplinary hearings. Candidates must have a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and at least two years of active legal practice. They must be licensed to practice law in Texas, or eligible for licensure within one year, and be in good standing or eligible for good standing with the state bar. At least four years of relevant legal experience in higher education or government is preferred. Strong legal research, writing, communication, judgment, time management, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to handle complex assignments, work collaboratively, and maintain confidentiality.
