The Company is seeking a Head of Unit for its Mergers Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of analysts and senior analysts in the assessment of notified mergers, ensuring that the work is in line with the company's merger guidelines and processes. This role requires a highly motivated individual with strong leadership and people management skills, excellent analytical and decision-making abilities, and a deep understanding of law and/or economics. The Head of Unit will be expected to manage multiple merger cases, contribute to the development of strategic and substantive input, and provide clear and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities for the Head of Unit include leading the team in the delivery of investigative approaches, competitive analyses, and the development of theories of harm related to mergers. The role also involves liaising with other national competition authorities, providing regular reports to senior management, and contributing to the strategic direction of the division. Essential criteria for the position include a relevant degree in a related discipline, at least four years' professional experience in regulatory investigations or a related field, and a strong commitment to public service. Desirable criteria include formal accreditation or a postgraduate qualification in competition law, economics, or business law, as well as experience in merger reviews or related regulatory activities.
