Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)

The Company is seeking a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to serve as the senior administrative executive, responsible for the effective management, coordination, and delivery of the organization's administration, programs, services, finances, human resources, and organizational operations. The CAO will work under the direction of the Chief and Council, translating strategic priorities into operational plans, and ensuring the organization operates in an accountable, financially responsible, professional, and culturally respectful manner. Key responsibilities include executive administration, financial management, human resources, program and service delivery, capital projects, policy implementation, risk management, and external administrative relationships. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a service-oriented approach, build productive relationships, and uphold the values and traditions of the organization. Candidates for the CAO position at the company should possess a degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and significant senior leadership experience. A minimum of 7-10 years' of executive leadership experience, particularly in a complex organization with multiple departments and funding sources, is required. Experience in financial management, budgeting, and organizational accountability is essential, and experience with First Nation governments or Indigenous organizations is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of First Nations' financial administration, governance structures, and funding environments is an asset.
