Head of Compliance, Private Bank

The Company is in search of a Head of Compliance to take on a pivotal leadership role within its Hong Kong business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime Compliance functions, serving as the designated MLRO. This role involves leading the development and maintenance of the Regulatory Compliance framework, providing advisory support to the Private Banking and Wealth Management businesses, and ensuring that all compliance policies, procedures, and controls are in line with regulatory requirements. The Head of Compliance will also be tasked with overseeing a range of compliance programs, including AML/CFT, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, and conduct risk, and will be expected to drive regulatory change initiatives and manage the implementation of new regulations. Applicants for the Head of Compliance position at the company should hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and have a minimum of 15 years' of compliance experience, particularly within private banking, wealth management, or banking environments. Strong knowledge of HKMA and SFC requirements, as well as proven experience in managing AML/CFT and Financial Crime Compliance programs, is essential. The role requires a candidate with a strong understanding of private banking products, discretionary portfolio management, lending, and cross-border banking activities, and previous experience as an MLRO or deputy MLRO is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills, the ability to influence senior stakeholders, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Fluency in English is required, with proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin being advantageous.
