The Company is seeking a Cloud Database Automation Engineer to join their Platform Engineering organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, enhancing, and adding new functionality to data platforms, as well as providing technical oversight and guidance for database engineering and automation efforts. Key responsibilities include implementing infrastructure as code, performing software configuration management for databases, and automating database operations and migration. The role also requires the implementation of monitoring and logging solutions for various database technology stacks and a general knowledge of cloud operations. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years' experience in systems automation, with a deep expertise in at least one database technology. The role demands a candidate with a strong background in public cloud (AWS RDS), Linux/Unix/Windows systems, and experience as a Senior DBA or Database Automation Engineer. Desired skills include experience with RDS, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MySQL, Oracle, DynamoDB, or DocumentDB, as well as proficiency in Terraform, Python, and Shell scripting. The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of cloud service and deployment models, and experience in migrating databases from on-premises to the public cloud. AWS Cloud and Terraform certifications are also preferred.
