Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Greater Indianapolis, IN Area

The Company is in search of a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) with a strong strategic and business-focused background to oversee its enterprise cybersecurity, cyber-risk, and data privacy program. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and executing a multi-year, risk-based security strategy, leading the adoption of secure AI and GenAI, and protecting various digital and operational platforms. This role also involves leading data privacy controls, directing 24x7 security operations, and incident response, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The CISO will be a key partner with various business functions to align security with the company's operations and will be expected to build a high-performing security team and culture. Applicants for the CISO position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' experience in IT and security, with at least 7 years in senior security leadership. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in building enterprise security programs, presenting cyber risk to a Board, and hands-on leadership during significant security incidents. Experience in securing operational technology, IoT, and cloud environments is essential, as is knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS. While not mandatory, experience in public company, REIT, retail, or hospitality sectors is preferred, and professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC are a plus. The ideal candidate will have executive presence, sound judgment under pressure, and a pragmatic, business-enabling approach to security.
