Greater Killeen, TX Area (Hybrid)
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Development for Principal and Leadership Gifts. This role is pivotal in leading strategy discussions, supporting staff, and enhancing the organization's capacity to secure significant philanthropic contributions. The successful candidate will work closely with development colleagues, university and foundation leadership, and will be responsible for a small portfolio of donors in the principal and leadership gifts segment. Core responsibilities include coaching and leading development staff, strategizing on donor interactions, and ensuring the growth of the leadership gifts segment through accurate data interpretation and analysis. Candidates for this position should have a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree or professional certification preferred) and at least 8 years of professional fundraising experience. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing and leading complex fundraising strategies, strong collaboration and relationship management skills, and the ability to adapt to changing situations. Experience in the higher education sector, particularly with an understanding of the development process, donor cycle, and the challenges and opportunities within the academic landscape, is highly valued. The role requires excellent communication, program building, and coaching skills, as well as the ability to make face-to-face solicitations and manage multiple activities with attention to detail. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to work with considerable independence within a team environment are also essential.
