Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of a large, high-profile transport operation. The role is responsible for operational performance, service delivery, workforce effectiveness, financial accountability, and continuous improvement. The COO will also lead major transformation initiatives, including the transition to zero-emission operations and the adoption of new technologies. As a member of the executive team, the successful candidate will build stakeholder relationships and drive sustained improvements across the organization. Candidates should bring executive leadership experience in transport, logistics, infrastructure, or another complex, regulated, safety-critical environment. They will have a strong record of delivering operational performance, safety, workforce engagement, and commercial outcomes in large, customer-focused service organizations. Experience leading strategic engagement with recognized trade unions and working effectively in a unionized environment is required. Strong commercial judgment, inclusive leadership, and the ability to lead organizational change, develop high-performing teams, and strengthen organizational capability are essential.
