Head of Finance

The Company is seeking a Head of Finance to play a pivotal role in its ambitious mission to reduce waste and lead in the implementation of significant legislative changes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Authority's financial reporting, providing strategic financial insight, and leading the finance team. This senior position demands a qualified CCAB accountant with a proven track record in delivering statutory annual accounts, budget setting, and financial modeling. The Head of Finance will also be instrumental in strengthening financial controls, governance, and assurance, and driving automation and continuous improvement in finance systems and processes. Key responsibilities for the Head of Finance include leading the production of the annual Statement of Accounts, managing the external audit relationship, and delivering high-quality financial and performance reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and Members. The role requires an inspiring leader who can influence senior stakeholders, is commercially astute, and has experience in delivering savings through process improvement. Desirable skills include experience with ERP systems, digital transformation in finance, and project management. The Head of Finance will be at the forefront of the company's financial management, with a focus on setting out the affordability, risk, and return on investment for major capital and partnership decisions.
