Senior Legal Counsel

The Company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to take the lead on all legal matters within the organization. This role is pivotal in providing legal guidance and support as the business continues to grow and expand its presence. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a junior lawyer and will be expected to have a hands-on approach to legal issues. The ideal candidate will be a 5+ years PQE England and Wales Qualified Lawyer, with a strong background in commercial contracts and experience in a similar in-house legal role, particularly within the financial services sector. Key responsibilities for the Senior Legal Counsel include overseeing and advising on a wide range of legal matters, with a focus on commercial contracts. Experience in areas such as retail lending, SME lending, or payments institutions is highly valued. The role also requires the candidate to be extremely personable, with the ability to work autonomously and interact effectively with various stakeholders. Exposure to ex-co and board level interactions is a significant advantage.
