Vice President of AI Greater London, United Kingdom Area
About the Role
Greater London, United Kingdom Area (On-site - Headquarter location)(London, United Kingdom)
The Company is seeking a Vice President of AI to set the direction and commercial priorities for its AI function, connecting industrial operating needs with research and technology delivery. The role will identify valuable problems, shape the research agenda, and make decisions about which initiatives to pursue, defer, or stop. The Vice President will lead customer, executive, and board-level discussions, assess feasibility and delivery commitments, and oversee the AI function’s people, hiring, budget, and performance. Working closely with Product, Technology, and AI Research leadership, this person will guide solutions from problem definition through deployment and user adoption while managing risks and cross-functional dependencies. Candidates should bring a strong understanding of oil and gas, petrochemicals, or the broader energy sector, including operational users and commercially valuable challenges. They need experience taking industrial technology from problem identification through deployment and adoption, leading technical teams, and owning strategy, hiring, and budgets. The role requires enough AI and technology delivery knowledge to assess established approaches, challenge assumptions, and recognize when deeper technical validation is needed. Strong customer leadership, clear communication with technical and executive audiences, sound judgment under ambiguity, and a willingness to learn adjacent industrial domains are essential; experience in refining, petrochemicals, or AI-enabled industrial solutions is an advantage.
