Interim Head of Finance, Place Directorate

The Company is seeking an interim Head of Finance to provide strategic financial leadership across a range of place-related services. Responsibilities include leading the finance business partnering function, advising senior stakeholders, and overseeing budget setting, financial planning, forecasting, and monitoring. The role will support transformation programmes, savings initiatives, and investment decisions while ensuring sound financial governance and regulatory compliance. It also involves leading and developing a high-performing finance team and helping deliver organizational priorities. Candidates should hold a professional finance qualification such as CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, and have significant experience in local government finance. A strong understanding of place-related services and their financial challenges is required, along with a proven record of financial leadership in a complex organization. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills are essential, as is the ability to make an immediate impact in an interim role.
