Head of Actuary

The Company is seeking a Head of Actuary to lead its actuarial function within the life insurance sector. Responsibilities include overseeing valuations, financial reporting, product pricing, experience studies, forecasting, and capital assessments, while ensuring compliance with IFRS 17 and applicable regulations. The role provides strategic advice on profitability, solvency, risk, and financial sustainability, and establishes sound actuarial methodologies, governance, and quality controls. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, communicate findings to key stakeholders, mentor the actuarial team, and advance automation and modelling initiatives. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or a related quantitative discipline and have at least 10 years of life insurance experience. Fellowship or associate status with a recognized actuarial professional body, or significant progress toward fellowship, is required. Strong expertise in reserving, valuation, pricing, financial modelling, capital management, IFRS 17, and local insurance regulations is essential. Applicants should also bring actuarial team leadership experience, advanced modelling and spreadsheet skills, and excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management abilities; experience with data analytics tools or programming languages is an advantage.
