Associate Vice President, Underwriting Director, Large Property
About the Role
Greater New York City, NY Area (Hybrid)
The Company is in search of an Executive Large Property Underwriter or AVP, Director Large Property Underwriter to join their National Large Property team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling complex new and renewal domestic large property accounts, serving as a subject matter expert, and maintaining relationships with select brokers in the East region. This role requires the ability to administer and monitor underwriting rules, develop and maintain relationships with distributors, and proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting, be visible in the marketplace, and have the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely. Applicants for the Executive Large Property Underwriter position should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in underwriting or market-facing roles, or a combination of a High School Diploma and 10 years of experience in claims or underwriting support. For the AVP, Director Large Property Underwriter role, a minimum of 7 years of experience in underwriting or market-facing roles is required. The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office, have experience working in a team environment, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills. A Bachelor's degree, technical knowledge of large property underwriting, and established broker relationships in the East region are preferred qualifications. The role demands a professional with a sales execution mindset, the ability to work under time constraints, and a proactive approach to business development.
