About the Role
Greater New York City, NY Area (Hybrid)
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of restoring and preserving a significant aesthetic amenity with a broad public impact. The successful candidate will be responsible for fundraising, particularly from corporate and commercial entities, and must have a proven track record of securing five-figure and larger gifts. This role is pivotal in the organization's next chapter, with a focus on multiple major restoration projects. The Executive Director will also be involved in mission and relationship stewardship, management, and financial leadership, and must be prepared to engage in a moderate amount of functional administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Conservancy. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of experience, with at least 5 years' in a non-profit environment, and a strong background in business community engagement and resource development. The role requires a candidate with a demonstrated commitment to establishing and maintaining a diversified donor base, as well as proven experience in grant writing and financial management, including budget preparation and grants management. A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required, and candidates must be authorized to work legally in the United States. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader, capable of working closely with the Board of Directors, and will be expected to have the flexibility to attend events during evenings and weekends to foster impactful relationships and raise the profile of the Conservancy.
