Executive Director

The Company is seeking an Executive Director, Senior Counsel to provide high-level legal support to its rapidly growing front office business. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of legal matters, with a focus on equity sales and trading platforms, including syndicated margin lending, equity repo, securities lending, and delta-one swaps. This role involves ensuring compliance with margin lending regulations, FINRA, Reg T, and Reg U, as well as providing guidance on Dodd-Frank and rules related to security-based swaps and dealers. The Executive Director, Senior Counsel will also be involved in drafting and negotiating various legal agreements and will be a key partner to internal stakeholders in addressing legal, operational, and risk issues. Applicants for this position must have a JD from a US law school, be admitted to the NY State Bar, and have 8-10+ years of legal experience, ideally with a background that includes both top AmLaw 100 firm and in-house experience within a financial services institution. Strong expertise in margin lending, equity repo, and delta-one, as well as a deep understanding of securities regulations, is essential. The role requires the ability to serve as a trusted business partner to internal clients and to work closely with cross-functional teams, including credit, market risk, and collateral management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in providing legal support to equity finance business and be adept at maintaining and enhancing standard documentation templates.
