Executive Director, Head of Procurement Greater New York City, NY Area

The Company is seeking an Executive Director, Head of US Procurement to spearhead its enterprise procurement function. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and executing a multi-year procurement strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives. This role involves leading category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management across various spend areas, including commercial, medical, R&D, and manufacturing. The Executive Director will also be tasked with driving cost savings, ensuring compliance with healthcare and pharmaceutical requirements, and supporting the company's growth and product launch initiatives. A key aspect of the position is the ability to influence and partner with senior leaders, as well as the Executive Leadership Team, to build procurement into a trusted and value-driving capability. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with an MBA or advanced degree preferred, and a minimum of 15 years' of procurement experience, including 7 years' in a leadership role. A background in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry is essential, as is a proven track record in procurement transformation and delivering sustained savings. The role requires expert negotiation skills, hands-on experience with source-to-pay platforms and ERP systems, and a strong understanding of SOX, internal controls, and healthcare compliance. Professional certification in procurement is also preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in M&A integration, global procurement, and a background in process excellence or Lean Six Sigma.
