Head of Risk & Compliance

The Company is seeking a Head of Risk and Compliance to take on a high-impact role with the opportunity to shape the firm's risk framework and drive best practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing the US Risk and Compliance team, overseeing regulatory compliance, and directing the firm's new business intake, conflicts analysis, and ethical screen processes. This role requires the development and implementation of comprehensive risk management strategies and compliance frameworks, as well as monitoring and ensuring adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards. The Head of Risk and Compliance will also lead internal audits, provide guidance and training to partners and firm leadership, and act as the primary point of contact for external regulators and auditors. Applicants for the Head of Risk and Compliance position at the company must have a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree, with an active U.S. bar admission in good standing, and at least 6-8 years' of experience in law firm risk and compliance or related legal risk functions. Strong experience in conflicts and risk management, new business intake, and the creation and implementation of ethical screens is essential. The role requires excellent communication and leadership skills, the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risk. Experience with risk and compliance technologies, particularly in the legal sector, is also a key requirement. The successful candidate will be expected to travel among US and international offices as necessary.
