Senior Vice President, Data Governance Lead Greater New York City, NY Area

The Company is in search of an SVP, Data Governance Lead to join their Data Solutions & Services team. The successful candidate will be a Senior Data Governance leader with a focus on enhancing data management across the enterprise. This pivotal role involves leading initiatives to improve data quality, metadata, governance, and data risk management. The SVP will work closely with business and technology teams to ensure that data is reliable, well-documented, and suitable for various uses, including analytics and AI. Key responsibilities include leading enterprise data governance activities, partnering with stakeholders to implement governance strategies, and driving improvements in data quality controls and reporting. The role also requires the identification and mitigation of data-related risks and governance issues, as well as providing visibility into governance progress and data quality performance. To be considered for this position, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 7-10 years of experience in data management, governance, quality, or related disciplines. A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience is also required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality, metadata, lineage, and data ownership concepts, and experience in implementing governance programs in complex enterprise environments. Preferred qualifications include experience in the financial services industry, knowledge of industry governance or risk frameworks, and experience with enterprise data operating models and large-scale data environments. Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills are essential for this role.
