Vice President, Head of Expense Management Operations

The Company is seeking a Vice President, Head of Expense Management Operations to lead spend operations, including accounts payable, employee reimbursements, corporate cards, vendor payments, and spend governance. The role will set the function’s strategic direction, establish performance measures and controls, and lead and develop the operations team. Responsibilities include overseeing expense approvals, payment workflows, vendor management, and compliance, while partnering with finance leaders on budgeting and expense analysis. The successful candidate will also drive process improvements, automation, and financial systems enhancements, use analytics to improve spend visibility, and support audits and regulatory reviews. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, along with 6–10 or more years of progressive experience in finance operations, accounts payable, spend management, procure-to-pay, or shared services. At least five years of experience managing operational teams and processes is required, as is a strong understanding of expense controls, accounts payable, and financial governance. Applicants should bring experience improving processes, advanced Excel and financial systems skills, and strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities. Experience in financial services, familiarity with procurement or expense management systems, relevant professional credentials, and a background leading automation or finance transformation initiatives are preferred.
